Top IIT recruiters

The firms behind IIT placements — technology giants, quantitative-trading houses, semiconductor leaders and consulting majors. Search by name or filter by sector.

Who recruits from the IITs?

IIT placements are driven by a few distinct kinds of recruiter, and the headline package a firm offers usually says as much about its sector as about the institute. Broadly, on-campus hiring splits into technology product companies, quantitative-trading and high-frequency finance firms, core-engineering and semiconductor employers, management-consulting houses, and a long tail of startups, banks and analytics firms. Each group hires for different roles, pays on a different scale, and shows up at different IITs.

Technology and product firms

Software product companies — global names like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe and a wave of well-funded startups — are the largest single source of offers by volume. They hire heavily from computer science, electrical and mathematics-and-computing branches for software engineering, machine-learning and infrastructure roles. Their domestic packages typically run well above the institute-wide average, and the strongest candidates pick up international offers from US, European or Singapore offices.

Quantitative trading and finance

The very highest IIT packages almost always come from quantitative-trading and high-frequency-trading firms — houses such as Jane Street, Tower Research, Quadeye and the trading desks of global investment banks. These offers combine a high base with a large signing bonus and, for international roles, relocation, which is why a single quant offer can sit several times above a typical domestic CTC. They recruit a small number of exceptional students, so these figures are records, not norms.

Core engineering, semiconductors and consulting

Semiconductor and hardware leaders — Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Intel, Texas Instruments and Samsung — recruit for chip-design and systems roles, especially from electrical and electronics branches. Management-consulting firms such as McKinsey, BCG and Bain hire across branches for analyst and associate roles, valuing problem-solving over a specific engineering specialisation. Together with banks, energy and manufacturing employers, these firms anchor the broad middle of the placement distribution.

Reading recruiter figures

Each recruiter profile lists the highest offer we have on record from that firm and the IITs where it is a notable recruiter. Treat the top-offer figure as the ceiling, not the typical package — most students who join a given company sign at a lower, more representative number. Use the placement comparison for institute-level averages and the highest-packages leaderboard for the record offers across the IITs. Figures are compiled from public reports and are best used as a guide to which firms hire where, rather than as a precise salary quote.
